Wine Review: This pale white gold colored Riesling based blend from Australia opens with a ginger and Asian pear bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slight acidic and semi-sweet. The flavor profile is a mineral infused peach and ginger blend with hints of white pepper and pineapple. Its flavors and mild acidity linger and last for quite a while after the wine is gone. I would pair this good value wine with chicken lo-mein. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Lifted fresh cut grass and snap pea aromatics hint at Sauvignon Blanc with lemon and lime sherbet from the Riesling exploding from the glass. The Rhone varieties play lightly on the nose with tropical flowers, fresh pineapple, dry hay, and candied ginger peeking through. The palate shows red apple skins, ripe pear, and white peach with some pithy grapefruit texture, all balanced by some nutty creamy notes. A welcoming hint of the candied ginger returns and lingers on a long, fresh, and vibrant finish.
