Wine Review: This opaque and almost pitch black colored Shiraz opens with a fragrant blackberry liquor bouquet with a hint of leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, jammy, yet smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty ripe blackberry with hints of black currant, vanilla, and black pepper. The finish is dry and its easy going gentle tannins do not get in the way. Consume this Shiraz over the next year or so. It would be nice by the fireplace on a cold winter night. Pair it with ribs. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine has feisty yet adult aromas of white pepper, and smells of red Australian earth in the summer. The blackberry and mulberry fruits taste as if they’ve been gently stewed to a conserve, with whole berries remaining in the pulp. The finish is teasing and appetizing with savoury dark green tannins and an elegant, refined attitude.
