Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cab was a solid second place finisher is a mini blind flight of affordable Cabs. It opens with a mild black currant bouquet with a hint of menthol. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and soft. The flavor profile is an oak infused black currant with notes of dark chocolate and black cherry. The finish is dry and its gentle moderate tannins are tingly and slightly prolonged. This is a pleasant and easy going Cab that has some character. At this price it is a real deal. I would pair it with a big thick mushroom and Swiss Angus burger. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The fruit comes from the Phillips family own vineyard located at the winery. Aged in French Oak barrels this Cab gives aromas of fresh cranberry, clove, and luscious licorice. Dried cherries and all spice mingle with soft tannins on the palate.
