Wine Review: This golden colored sparkler's bouquet is marked with notes of toast, vanilla, caramel, golden delicious apples, and candied clementines. The bubbles are immense and take some time to give way, but once they do "The Ring" drinks beautifully. This is a medium-full bodied wine with flavors, of toast, caramelized apples, ripe peaches, papaya and apricots. The minerality still shows very precisely through this sparkler, especially when you consider the age on it. The acidity is still tight and makes this sparkler refreshing. The only downside is the finish, it isn’t nearly long enough, but outside of that, a very enjoyable wine. - Nicolay
Winemaker Notes: Appropriately named "The Ring," this was the first wine that owner, Philip Jonker ever made. As it matured over the course of three years, Philip fell in love and on his wedding day the cork was popped on the maiden vintage. Aromas of lemon grass, melon and mint lead to a crisp palate of green apple, citrus and honey. These complex flavors are flawlessly woven together to create an elegant Blanc de Blancs style in this delicate yet substantial bubbly.
