Wine Review: This dark garnet colored Syrah from V. Sattui opens with a musty old book and black cherry-cola bouquet with hints of boysenberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and youthful. The flavor profile is stone dust and black cherry blend with notes of blueberry and red currant. We also detected hints of loam, sage, and wintermint that show up in the aftertaste. The finish is dry and its tannins build-up and stick around for quite some time. The Tasting Panel would pair this Syrah with a lamb burger or a filet mignon. Enjoy – KWGTP
