Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Syrah based blend from V. Sattui opens with a spiced black plum, blackberry, and fruit cake bouquet with hints of strawberry and new leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, juicy, and quite bright. The flavor profile is boysenberry and cedar blend with notes of cardamon, dark chocolate, and clove. We also detected hints of mild mint, red raspberry, and thyme. The finish is dry, and its flavors and fine tannins are prolonged. The Tasting Panel would pair this Syrah a barley and mushroom risotto or with barbecue St. Louis baby back ribs. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Beautiful and refined the 2020 Napa Valley Syrah is sourced from different clones in vineyards from St. Helena to Yountville to Carneros. Luxurious aromas of ripe blackberries entice the senses followed by nuances of black plum and sweet tobacco. A silky smooth delight for the palate with flavors reminiscent of blueberry cobbler and milk chocolate followed by a pleasantly peppery finish.
