Wine Review: This wine has mellowed since I first covered it in 2009. It now opens with a black cherry and blueberry bouquet with a hint of new leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and easy going. The flavor profile is a gentle blueberry and plum blend with hints of mild black currant and gentle oak. The finish is dry and is dusty fine tannins are still a bit sticky. This Cab has developed nicely and it is easy to drink. It would be perfect with barbecue steak tips. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The second vintage of Mayacamas Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is nicely complex, with dark fruit, cherries and hints of chocolate and vanilla on the nose. It is well-structured with "medium-plus" body, good weight and balance on the palate. The flavors carry through very well across the whole palate. There is elegance to this wine, as it glides across the palate and leads to a pleasing finish.
