Wine Review: Garnet in color, this Syrah has inviting aromas of toffee and wet brick on the nose. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied and layered with chocolate, espresso, mocha and anise flavors. There is substantial fruit as well, paced by blackberry and cassis flavors. The medium oak and moderate tannins add structure, while the tannins are resolved and the finish is exceptionally long. Serve with grilled lamb chops. - Jeoff

Winemaker Notes: Our Syrah-Viognier shows ripe red fruit and licorice, subtle floral hints earth, raspberry jam, candied current, and cocoa. The long finish is dusty with focused tannins and subtle oak.

Your comments on this wine:

Cork Lore: A cork tree must be at least 25 years old before its bark can be harvested the first time, but it cannot be used for wine stoppers until the third harvest. Cork trees can be stripped of their bark no more than every 9 to 12 years. In one harvest, enough cork is removed from the average tree to make 4,000 wine stoppers.
