Wine Review: This opaque and dark purple colored Syrah opens with a fragrant black currant and black licorice bouquet with hints of oak, black pepper, and light herbs. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and displays subtle fruit. The flavor profile is a mix of black currant and black licorice with a touch of black raspberry and minerality mixed in. The finish is dry, smooth, and its gentle moderate tannins are slightly prolonged. This Syrah should be consumed soon with beef satay or shepherds pie. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: An intense nose of plum, red currants, and blackberry; accented with vanilla, earth, and white pepper. The mouth is layered with rich flavors of cassis and black cherry jam; followed by mineral and cracked black pepper. Mouth-filling tannins provide an opulent finish of fruit and spice.
