Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Pinot Bianco from Alto Adige is a very nice and approachable wine. It opens with a mild pear and floral bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, a bit tangy and crisp. The flavor profile is a mineral infused green apple with notes of white pepper and pear. The finish is dry, pleasantly refreshing and its mineral notes linger nicely. This wine would pair well many seafood dishes. I would try steamed mussels or shrimp scampi. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Pinot Bianco is part of the Burgundian Pinot family and is related to Pinot Grigio and the principal grape of Pinot family, Pinot Noir. As a wine, Pinot Blanc feels fresh and rich yet dry. It has a greenish yellow to light yellow color and light scents of green apple. The wine also shows a complex nutty flavor and hints of green leaves. It feels balanced between richness of texture and bright acidity. Pairings for Pinot Blanc include light starters, fish or white meat. It also works as an aperitif.
