Wine Review: This pitch-black colored Petite Sirah from Terra Valentine won our recent Big Blind Tasting. It opens with an inviting blackberry bouquet with notes of wet stone and fresh ground coffee. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, smooth and refined for Petite Sirah. The flavor profile is a mineral influenced mild blackberry with notes of oak. We also detected a hint of black coffee and blueberry mixed in. The finish is dry and its managed tannins build-up and linger for a very long time. The Panel suggested pairing this terrific Petite Sirah with a Kona encrusted steak along with some Devil’s food cake for dessert.
