Wine Review: This dark salmon colored Rose is one of the best dry Rose's that I have covered in a while. It opens with a fragrant orange bouquet with hints of wet stone and plum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very nicely balanced and super polished for a Rose. The flavor profile is a tasty mild mineral infused clementine and gentle strawberry blend with a splash of pilsner beer in the background. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This wine is a perfect summer quaffer and would be a perfect choice for a grilled mahi mahi sandwich. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2013 Dianthus is cranberry in color, with an expressive nose of watermelon rind, rose petals, plum, and mineral. The mouth is rich but vibrant, with flavors of wild strawberry, pomegranate, plum and lime, and a long, rich finish that is both fresh and spicy. Pair it with Mediterranean cuisine, Spanish tapas, preparations with garlic and olive oil... or just enjoy it outside on a sunny day.
