Wine Review: This golden yellow colored white blend opens with a mild honey and Bosc pear like bouquet with a hint of almond. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and slightly viscous. The flavor profile is a mineral infused Anjou pear with a hint of white peach. The finish is dry and refreshing. I found this wine to be very food friendly and would pair well with Les Zygomates grilled rainbow trout. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2009 Esprit de Beaucastel Blanc shows a rich, lifted nose, very spicy, with aromas of ginger, tangerine, asian pear, beeswax and herbs. The mouth shows classic Roussanne flavors of honey and spice, with a little tropicality lurking behind, and a long, dry finish with toffee and pear notes. We suggest that this wine will benefit from short-term cellaring, and drink well from mid-2011 through the end of the decade.
