Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Spatlese opens a green pear bouquet with some wet stone, pineapple and mild lime mixed in. On the palate, this wine is light bodied and very sweet. The flavor profile is a ripe apricot and green apple blend with notes of pineapple and a touch of minerality. The finish remains sweet and lingers for a bit. This wine is a nice sipper and would pair well with lemon meringue pie or a hot peach cobbler. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A masterpiece of nature. This brilliant Spatlese captures everything a Mosel Riesling is about. In the nose the wine displays the sparkling minerality of Piesporter Goldtropfchen's highly mineralized slate soils. Except for the typical Piesporter black currant and grapefruit notes, the wine oozes ripe pineapple and herbs. On the palate one can sense the silkiness of the minerals.
