Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Merlot will appeal to readers who like subdued fruit and more of a European style of wine. It opens with a black cherry bouquet with a hint of strawberry rhubarb and rose. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, soft, and smooth. The flavor profile is a mild black cherry and strawberry rhubarb blend with notes of integrated old oak. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins are quite prolonged. This wine is light enough to be food friendly. The panel felt it would pair well with meatloaf with sweet potato fries or a pork chop. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2005 Napa Valley Merlot is wonderful reminder that this varietal is a structured and elegant wine with delicately bold fruit flavors. St. Supéry’s Merlot is a balanced wine with aromas of plum and subtle spice. This Napa Valley Merlot is a compliment to a wide array of foods.
