Wine Review: This very dark garnet colored Zinfandel from St. Francis opens with a boysenberry, black cherry, and cinnamon bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and easy to drink. The flavor profile is mild blackberry and stone dust blend with notes of oak and blueberry. I also picked up some hints of mild cherry and black licorice. The finish is dry, and its fine tannins fade away nicely. This Zin is food friendly and versatile. I would pair it with a pork tenderloin. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A vibrant blend of old vine fruit, this aromatic wine offers layers and layers of rich, fruit flavors and spice. Juicy raspberry, blackberry preserves, and a touch of dried cranberry are balanced with spicy notes of cinnamon and black pepper that merge with a lengthy finish.
