Wine Review: This yellow colored Chard is very approachable and European styled. It opens with a wet stone and mild lime bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very well balanced, and has a nice round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a gentle green apple with some infused mineral notes and a touch of Anjou pear. The finish is rather dry, a touch metallic, and pleasant. This wine is very food friendly and would pair well with bacon wrapped scallops or steamed mussels. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Planted on what was once an ocean floor, The Cutrer vineyard stands hardly a dozen miles from the Pacific shore. Featuring sandy hillside soils that rise nearly 300 feet above sea level, the vineyard is carefully watched over. Judicious crop thinning, high-density spacing, and a wide variety of rootstocks ensure a balanced, fully developed wine with great concentration and an exquisitely rich yellow-gold hue flecked with green.
