Wine Review: This coral colored wine from Sokol Blosser was very good. It opens with mild orange and strawberry like bouquet with hints of wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, creamy and smooth. The flavor profile is a mineral infused mild strawberry with notes of tangerine and a hint of nectarine. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This rich dry Rose will pair nicely with food. I would serve it cool and pair it with a salmon burger. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2015 Rose of Pinot Noir is a classic dry rose made 100% from estate pinot noir grapes. We hang more fruit on these vines to retain acidity and ensure the wine is crisp, vibrant and refreshing. The grapes were hand harvested and de-stemmed, and we soaked the juice on the skins for five hours before pressing. The extended slow, cool fermentation preserved lively fruit flavors and delicate floral aromas. Our rose exhibits flavors of pink lady apple, hints of watermelon and balanced minerality. Serve with fresh seasonal fruit, wild salmon, seared Ahi tuna salad or crab ceviche.
