Wine Review: This light strawberry colored Rose from Sokol Blosser opens with a fragrant strawberry bouquet with hints of wet stone. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slightly acidic and lively. The flavor profile is a mineral infused tangerine with notes of red plum and strawberry. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity linger for quite a while after the wine is gone. This Rose was popular with our mini tasting group. We thought it would be a nice offering to consider slightly chilled at the beach with sharp cheddar cheese. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: We only use Pinot Noir grapes to produce this classic dry Rose. We maintain an extended, slow, cool fermentation to preserve the intense fruitiness and delicate floral aromas. The fermentation is stopped with just a hint of sweetness to balance with the firm acidity to make this wine crisp, vibrant, and refreshing. The mouthfeel is heavier yet is smooth on the palate. Flavors of strawberry and cream with ripe fruit are expressive throughout the wine.
