Wine Review: This red colored Oregon Pinot opens with a fragrant and attractive blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. It is also extremely approachable. The flavor profile is a very tasty plum and black raspberry with nicely integrated oak. There is a touch of spice and pepper blended in as well. The finish is dry, gentle, and pleasant. This Pinot is quite food friendly and would pair well with a veal chop over the next couple of years. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The holy grail of winegrapes is ripe fruit with good acidity. Hood River produces fruit with these qualities consistently. Watch its reputation grow as more vineyards are planted and more great wines are made from those vineyards. As stated, this wine was a wonderful surprise in 2008. Our Wyeast Pinots always have great natural acidity. This wine layers laser-like focused fruit of great intensity on top of that.
