Wine Review: This affordable pale yellow colored Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa was very well received by a mini-panel that covered it. It opens with a steely lime bouquet with notes of green pepper and fresh cut grass. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, tangy and crisp. The flavor profile is a mineral infused green apple and green pepper blend with hints of lime. The finish is dry and pleasant. I would pair this Sauvignon Blanc with ham based meals. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2010 Sauvignon Blanc has a brilliant hue of light straw with a youthful green tinge. A combustion of tropical fruit flavors combined with sassy green pepper and hints of asparagus. The crisp acidity and mineral notes ensures a lingering fresh finish. Further development of flavors should take place in the 12 to 24 months after the vintage, but the fruitiness is more pronounced early on. A great wine to accompany shellfish, light seafood, poultry or white sauce pasta dishes.
