Wine Review: This Pinot might be one of the best wines I have tried from Siduri. I had the opportunity to try a barrel sample of this wine this summer. It was stunning. It opens with a very attractive black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, extremely well balanced, and smooth. This is an absolutely delicious and complex Pinot. The flavor profile is a concentrated black raspberry with notes of ripe black cherry and cranberry on the back palate. There were hints of spice as well. The finish is quite dry and its well managed tannins are very nicely prolonged. Drink this outstanding Pinot with Kobe Steak and completely enjoy your special evening. Cheers - Ken
Winemaker Notes: It took us awhile, to put 2 and 2 together and realize that this special lot of Pisoni Pinot Noir was, in some unplanned way, a tribute to Eddie. Thus the 2008 Siduri Eddie's Lot Pisoni Vineyard Pinot Noir was born. We just bottled this wine, all 92 cases of it, and it is everything from bottle that it was from barrel and then some. Big, rich, commanding attention, full of flavor and personality, with a long, lingering finish, and very good levels of natural acidity. It is often said but less often true....this wine tastes good right away but we have no doubt that it will reward.
