Wine Review: This opaque and dark purple colored Pinot from Siduri opens with a fragrant and attractive plum and red raspberry bouquet. On the palate this wine is medium bodied, balanced, savory and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a tasty black raspberry and red currant blend with notes of well integrated oak. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are nicely prolonged and linger. This Pinot is not overly complex, but fun. I would serve it slightly chilled. It would pair perfectly with barbecue chicken of the grill. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Upon opening, the 2009 Siduri Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir shows the forest floor, pine needle character that we find so often in Sonoma Coast wines. Red fruits come to the forefront on the palate, with hints of earth and minerals. The mid-palate shows more concentration and weight, and the finish is long, with good acidity. This wine certainly drinks well now but should be even more interesting with a couple of years in the cellar.
