Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Pinot Noir opens with a red currant and black cherry bouquet with a hint of old oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a gentle oak infused black raspberry with a hint of blueberry and dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its shows a touch of tingly acidity towards the end. This Pinot is very food friendly and would pair well with pork tenderloin. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2009 Keefer Ranch Pinot Noir recently won a blind tasting of our 2009 wines. It shows incredible perfume, classically Russian River on the nose. In the mouth the wines possesses richness without undue weight. Nutmeg spice combines with wild berry, raspberry, and plum fruit, all carried on a framework of good acidity and enough tannins to balance out the wine. While this wine drinks well now, it isn't difficult to see it aging for many years to come.
