Wine Review: This straw colored Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand is impressive. It opens with a classic and very fragrant grapefruit and gooseberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied and wonderfully balanced between its acidity and fruit. The flavor profile is a ripe pink grapefruit with nicely integrated minerality and notes of lime. I also detected some hints of spice and white pepper as well. The finish is dry and rather refreshing. This wine would be perfect poolside on a hot summer day. I would serve it with parmesan-crusted broiled scallops. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Pale straw. Intensely concentrated aromas of grapefruit, boxwood, blackcurrant and passionfruit. This is an incredibly pungent Sauvignon Blanc with powerful passionfruit, grapefruit, blackcurrant and an underlying mineral note. The palate is intensely concentrated and full with a long, lingering finish. This wine is drinking beautifully now and may also be enjoyed over the next two years. Ideally matched with oysters, scallops, salmon or pan-fried fish.
