Wine Review: Readers of KensWineGuide.com know I have an affinity for Merlot made by Bob Foley. Well he has done it again. Our mini group blessed another vintage of his Merlot this past week. This very opaque dark purple wine opens with a red raspberry and spicy black cherry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very nicely balanced, and rather smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty blueberry with notes of spicy black raspberry. There was also a touch of black currant and black pepper picked up by the group on the back palate. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger for quite some time. This wine paired nicely with my NY strip steak at Grill 23 in Boston. Enjoy - Ken
