Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Riesling from the Rheingau is one of the most refined dry styled Rieslings that I have covered. It opens with a wet stone and mild pear bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly crisp, and shows off a touch of effervescence. The flavor profile is a mild green apple with notes of gentle minerality and a hint of white pepper. There is also a bit of pilsner beer in the aftertaste. The finish is pleasantly dry, elegant and very food friendly. This very tasty Riesling would be a perfect match with Weisswurst and Sauerkraut. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Kiedrich Grafenberg Trocken "Erstes Gewach" is a perfect specimen of this mineral-rich terroir, displaying extremely rich character and complexity. A full-bodied, dry-style wine, it offers a provocative balance of fruit, spice and flintiness. It has a full, stony fruit aroma. It is weighty and complex on the palate, yet still quite elegant, with extraodinary length to the finish.
