Wine Review: This very pale yellow colored Sauvignon Blanc from the famed To Kalon Vineyard is for oak lovers. It opens with an oaky banana like bouquet with hints of pineapple and honey. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is an oak influenced yellow grapefruit with notes of honey and Bosc pear some hints of pineapple. The finish is dry and its flavors are very nicely prolonged. This is not your typical Sauvignon Blanc and will be enjoyed readers who like oak-styled and aged white wines. I would pair this Sauvignon Blanc with pasta carbonara. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: In our special To Kalon vineyard site, Sauvignon Blanc expresses its purity of fruit, showcasing zesty tangerine with crisp Asian pear, while weaving in wafts of wild fennel and thyme and a mouthwatering minerality. Its piece de resistance, however, is the rich textural sensation that comes from vines spreading deep roots in a place in which it shares a special kinship: the To Kalon Vineyard
