Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet from Mondavi was well received by the panel. It opens with a black currant and blackberry bouquet with hints of black cherry and menthol. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and rich. The flavor profile is black currant with integrated notes of anise, blackberry, minerality, and oak. The finish is dry and its big tannins build up and stick around for quite some time. This wine is still quite young, so the panel suggests cellaring it for a while. If you can't resist, plan on decanting it and serving it with a well-marbled ribeye or Chateaubriand. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: An endlessly generous, layered and complex expression of To Kalon terroir: The clean blackberry entry opens up into a delicious mouthful of wild berries, black olive, sage and cassis framed by warm mocha, toasted bread and a touch of granitic minerality. Fine, well-integrated tannins and deep, rich flavors that linge and linger
