Wine Review: This very pale yellow colored wine opens with a wet stone and pear bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, slightly viscous, and smooth. The flavor profile is a mineral infused mild tangerine and Bosc pear. The finish is dry and its mineral notes linger for a little while. This wine would pair well with broiled bay scallops. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Pinot Gris is an infrequently grown grape in the Finger Lakes, with wine styles often akin to a light and fruity Pinot Grigio. This wine is very different. With small a crop, open canopy, and late season hang time, this wine is rich and mouthfilling. Delicate and expressive. Stone fruit (peach, apricot) fill in the background of an understated, but complex palate. The nose is complex, carried by moderate alcohol gentle sweetness. More lean and dry than you might expect from a big Alsatian Pinot Gris, and much more rich, complex and mouth filling than you'd ever find in a Pinot Grigio.
