Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Ravenswood was a top finisher in our recent blind tasting. It opens with a red raspberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of Pine-Sol. On the palate, this wine was medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty black plum with hints of black cherry and minerality. The panel also detected hints of blueberry. The finish is dry and its soft dusty tannins are nicely prolonged. The panel suggested pairing this Zin gem with a Great Hill blue cheese mushroom burger or a Porcini mushroom and pork ragout. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2012 Old Hill Zinfandel is refined and reserved yet assertive. Nice weight and texture are perfectly accompanied by black fruit and dried flowers. The finish is long and incredibly enjoyable.
