Wine Review: This ruby colored Zin from the Alexander Valley opens with musty molasses like bouquet with notes of black currant mixed in. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a mild strawberry with notes of boysenberry and a hint of oak. The finish is dry and it is slightly prolonged. Our mini-group thought this wine would pair well with beef bourguignon. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2007 vintage of Big River Zinfandel expresses the most pure characteristics of old vine Zinfandel with a combination of concentration, complexity, and a richness that is unsurpassable. This wine has broad aromas of cassis, black olives, and minerals, yet is filled with jammy raspberry characteristics. The finish is sappy, pure, and seductively graceful. Its soft, round, plumy flavors are the essence of old vines expressing their "old vineness." – Joel Peterson
