Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Rancho Zabaco is a very good value. It opens with a red currant and plum like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, juicy and very fruity. The flavor profile is a blend of ripe red plum with hints of cranberry, red currant and a touch of oak. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are a bit sticky and linger for quite some time. This wine would be perfect for braised short ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our Rancho Zabaco Heritage Vines Zinfandel is bursting with flavor. The fore-palate is dominated by a mouth-watering, savory quality. Beneath the juicy blackberry, raspberry and boysenberry flavors, a distinct sliver of refined, artisanal chocolate emerges. A subtle peppery note rounds out the taste of this big and bold Zinfandel.
