Wine Review: This Cabernet Franc from South Africa opens with a mild cedar, wet stone and faint black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, juicy and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a smoky cedar influenced red raspberry with notes of red plum and a touch of green pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for quite a while. I would pair this Cab Franc with Hungarian goulash. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Individually crafted from unique vineyard parcels, dolomite wines express great purity of fruit and balanced elegance. Meant to be a slightly lighter, less serious "little brother" to the flagship Raats Cabernet Franc, this graceful wine exhibits luscious cherry, dark berry and spice flavors. It imparts a lovely fruit purity, along with nuances of herbs, a wet-stone minerality and a soft, velvety finish.
