Wine Review: This translucent medium garnet colored Pinot Noir from Peter Zemmer opens with a musty cedar and smoked meat bouquet with hints of rhubarb and cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, a bit rustic, and savory. The flavor profile is an earthy loam and red plum blend with notes of oak, stony minerality, cranberry, and gentle raspberry tea. We also detected a hint of rhubarb and cinnamon mixed in. The finish is dry, refreshing and its tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Pinot with pork tenderloin or porchetta. Enjoy – KWGTP
