Wine Review: This very dark opaque purple colored Merlot finished in second place in our recent blind tasting of newly released Merlots. It opens with a pleasant mild black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very well balanced, and super refined. The flavor profile is a rich and spicy black currant with notes of anise and black cherry. The finish is dry and its very fine tannins drift away nicely. This wine needed a little time to open up, but did so beautifully with a little air. The panel felt this elegant Merlot would pair very well with a filet mignon at your favorite steakhouse over the next couple of years. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: An intense, fruit forward wine, bursting with dark cherries, ripe plum, dark chocolate and spice. Good concentration in the wine adds to its pleasing mouth feel; balanced acidity enhances its appeal. Supple tannins are well-integrated on the entry, across the mid-palate and throughout the long, layered finish.
