Wine Review: This straw-colored Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand opens with a fragrant grapefruit bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, tangy and slightly sweet. The flavor profile is a ripe yellow grapefruit with notes of apricot and a hint of lime. The finish is dry and refreshing. This crowd pleasing Sauvignon Blanc will pair nicely with grilled swordfish kabobs. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Pale straw green in colour with brilliant clarity, Oyster Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is zesty and aromatic with lots of lively fruit characters. A concentration of assertive passionfruit and tropical fruit flavours with an abundant bouquet, it is a wine that is always crisp, elegant and refreshing.

Cork Lore: A cork tree must be at least 25 years old before its bark can be harvested the first time, but it cannot be used for wine stoppers until the third harvest. Cork trees can be stripped of their bark no more than every 9 to 12 years. In one harvest, enough cork is removed from the average tree to make 4,000 wine stoppers.
