Wine Review: This is a big styled Merlot and would appeal to readers who like Aussie Shiraz. It is opaque and deep onyx colored and opens with a mild ripe blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a mild black currant with notes of gentle blackberry and black olive. I also detected a touch of oak as well. The finish is dry, tingly, and its sticky dusty young oak tannins linger for quite some time. This wine is still developing and needs some air and fat in the near term. I would decant its and serve it with a messy rack of ribs. Enjoy - Ken
