Wine Review: This opaque and dark purple colored Syrah opens with a fragrant black raspberry, blackberry, and gentle oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, savory, and shows harmonious acidity. The flavor profile is a gentle black raspberry with nicely integrated mild oak. There is a dash of black pepper as well. The finish is dry and its very mild tannins are approachable. This Syrah is food friendly and would pair well with Theresa's meatloaf. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2007 Novy Russian River Valley Syrah is smooth, rich, and concentrated. It shows layers of blackberry, juicy cherry, and plum flavors. Underlying it all is a backbone of minerals and anise with hints of tar and earth. This wine is plush enough to drink now (especially with some airing) but will certainly improve with 3 to 5 years in the cellar.
