Wine Review: This Rose Champagne from Nicolas Feuillatte has hues of red roses in its coloring. It opens with a bouquet of wild flowers complemented by fresh bing cherries, pink grapefruit, and hints of currant. On the palate, it is medium bodied and has an elegance that has always been the motto of Feuillatte Champagnes. The way the different components of this rose come together is breathtaking. The berry fruits (strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, and currant) intermingle with a caramelized cream note, which is followed by a hint of toast, and finished by the distinct touch of age that is present as roasted nuts. All of these flavors linger for what feels like is forever. Enjoy – Nicolay.
Winemaker Notes: Appearance: Silver-tinged salmon-pink, with a steady ribbon of fine bubbles. Nose: Red fruit aromas. Intense, developing notes of blueberry, blackcurrant and raspberry. Palate: Delicate on the palate, fluid, underpinned by an extremely fine bead. Fruity finish. For an aperitif, best served at 7 - 8°C. With food, best served at 10 - 12°C.
