Wine Review: While on my recent trip to China, I discovered this pale yellow colored Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. It opens with an attractive lime and mild yellow grapefruit bouquet. Hints of wet stone were detected as well. On the palate, this wine is light bodied and slightly racy with lime flavors and a touch of minerality. The finish is dry, refreshing, and its flavors linger nicely. It would pair well with stemmed mussels in a garlic broth. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Light yellow/straw. Pungent gooseberry, grapefruit and stonefruit aromas are complimented by clean cut grass and mineral notes. Inviting fresh citrus and tropical fruit flavours overlay mineral characters. Balanced structure with racy acidity, good texture a concentrated mid-palate and a crisp finish. Drinking well now, this wine can be enjoyed until late 2010. Great as an aperitif or match with seafood, light meats, pasta, salads or Asian cuisine.
