Wine Review: From a typical vintage in Tuscany comes another superb wine from Monsanto. The nose is a mix of berry and steeped fruits and baking spices. The wine is a pretty brick red in the glass, typical color for a wine that is 90% Sangiovese. The palate is savory with raspberries, hints of aged tobacco, and cinnamon. The classic Sangiovese acidity is present on the finish but is well tamed by the oak aging (18 months). The finish is medium-long in length. Could drink well on its own, but with a well-braised lamb, this wine would shine. - Nicolay
