Wine Review: This slightly opaque and very dark ruby colored Cabernet Franc from Merriam opens with a fragrant and inviting blueberry and Acai berry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a ripe boysenberry with notes of nicely integrated old oak. I also detected hints of black plum and cherry-cola. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins, acidity and flavors are nicely prolonged. I would pair this tasty Cab Franc with braised Colorado lamb chops. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This 7th bottling of Jones vineyard appears dark purple in color. At first scent, notes of vanilla, golden raisins, blueberry and chocolate mouse. On the palate, thick and viscous with notes of raspberry, mocha and dark cherry. Long lingering finish with solid tannins for lasting cellaring potential.
