Wine Review: This very dark garnet colored Zinfandel from Limerick Lane opens with a bramble berry and bay leaf bouquet with hints stewed plum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, bright, energetic, and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a juicy red plum, clove, and cedar blend with notes of stony minerality and English breakfast tea. I also detected some hints of pomegranate and a touch of peach. The finish is dry, and its flavors and mild dusty tannins linger and last for a little while. I would decant this Zin for a bit in the near term to settle down its acidity. Then pair it with your favorite carnitas burrito. Enjoy – Ken
