Wine Review: This Pinot from Oregon is slightly opaque and dark ruby colored. It opens with a cola like bouquet with a hint of blueberry, dark chocolate and black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth and approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty cola and gentle plum blend with a hint of black cherry and very mild old oak. The finish is dry and very refined. This is a very elegant Pinot to serve with grilled red snapper. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Each year we select superior barrels of single clones and bottle them separately. The 2010 Karen's Pommard Pinot Noir represents the best barrels from our two Pommard blocks and is named after owner Steve Lutz's wife, Karen. The 2010 Karen's Pommard has dense black cherry, dark chocolate and mocha aromas. On the palate the wine is dense, structured and balanced with good acidity. The wine is dense on the mid-palate with a long, drawn out finish. Best 8 to 12 years from the vintage date.
