Wine Review: Readers know that I truly enjoy well made Oregon Pinot Gris. Well here is another one for you to find. This pale yellow offering opens with a mild wet stone like bouquet with a hint of apricot. On the palate, this Pinot Gris is light to medium bodied, balanced and displays nicely integrated acidity. The flavor profile is a tasty Bosc pear with a touch of mild lime and delicate mineral notes. The finish is dry and rather pleasant. Serve this wine cool (not cold) to bring out its tasty flavors. It would pair very well with grilled swordfish with a lemon drizzle. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Tikka's shows a continual evolution of wine styles; each year this wine becomes drier and more delicate. The nose speaks of green apple, quince, asian pear, yellow rose, and chalky minerality. The palate combines rich fruits with delicate texture and, we are pleased to say, not a hint of Pinot Gris trademark bitterness. There is sweetness but it is balanced by the vibrant acidity of the vintage. The long finish shows honeysuckle, Meyer lemon and tarragon.
