Wine Review: This very dark purple and slightly opaque Cab performed very well in its mini flight. It opens with a mild boysenberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a blend of black currant and black raspberry. There were notes of licorice and oak detected as well. The finish is rather dry and its substantial tannins stick with you for quite sometime. This age worthy Cab has enough tannin and fruit to live for quite sometime. If you just can’t wait, pull it out the next time you grill a juicy ribeye on the grill. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2005 Kuleto Estate Cabernet is a deep red-black color. It leads with aromas of melted black licorice, bay leaves, and ripe plums – in other words, it smells like our estate in late fall. Pleasing, toasty, tarry aromas lie just underneath. The mouth is focused, linear, meaty, ripe, and full of fine-grained tannins. It is sweet and succulent. This is a powerful wine for those who love to cook and eat. - Dave Lattin, Winemaker
