Wine Review: The light-yellow colored Chardonnay from Kendall Jackson opens with a lemon, pineapple, and oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and fresh. The flavor profile is similar to the nose, featuring a lemon, pineapple and oak blend with notes of stony minerality and white pepper. I also detected hints of Bartlett pear and butter. The finish is quite refreshing for a Chard. I would pair this Chard with crab cakes. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: As the preferred wine of the Kentucky Derby®, Kendall-Jackson is proud to offer this commemorative bottling of Chardonnay. This limited release wine is aged in small oak barrels. There is pineapple, tangerine, and tropical fruits on a lush and rich palate. Notes of candied lime and vanilla bean create an appealing and long, lingering finish. All of this overlies a touch of salinity and minerality. Cheers to the 149th Run for the Roses!
