Wine Review: This very dark purple colored Cab opens with a mild dark cherry like bouquet with a hint of cedar and tobacco. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very elegant, and well balanced. It displays ripe red cherry pie flavors with notes of dark chocolate on the back palate. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger for quite some time. The panel suggested pairing this wine with herb encrusted lamb. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The wines we make from the Dr. Crane Vineyard do show a different style and terroir than that of the other Karl Lawrence wines. This vineyard gives us wines of "plushness and silky finesse". With the 2005 vintage it even comes across more so. Aromas are soft, plush and plentiful of red fruits, coco and sweet floral notes. Generous with plush flavors that are layered in harmony to give this wine a sense of escalating in the mouth. Chocolate is a common description for Dr. Crane. This wine builds as it enters your mouth and will only continue to build in the bottle with time. Enjoy - Winemaker Michael Karl Trujillo
