Wine Review: This dark cherry colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Kanonkop is a bit of the rustic side. It opens with a red currant and green tea bouquet with hints of rhubarb and cigar box. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is bright, juicy, and savory. The flavor profile is a stewed black plum and blackberry blend with notes of black licorice and toasted oak. I also detected hints of black tea and graphite. The finish is dry and moderate tannins, acidity and flavors are extended. I would pair this good value grilled steak tips. Enjoy - Ken
